  2. How is the arch supported while laying bricks on top of mailbox?

  3. I’ll post some more pictures in the next few days for that step. You basically have to support the brick arch with stones as you start going up.

  4. Great looking work. Where did you get the bricks with the house number? I have been tossing around the idea of building a brick mailbox, and that is a great feature I had not thought of.

Woke up this morning to find that someone had knocked down our 4×4 post mailbox, so now have no more reason to put off this job.

    Cheers!

  5. I got the bricks with the numerals on the local brick store. You bring your own brick and they use some kind of a laser machine that stamps whatever you want on the brick.

  6. Hi
How do I clean a brick floor and how do I clean the grout between the bricks without using harsh chemicals?

A : Make sure to clean it up before it dries up, otherwise there is no good way of doing it.

  7. Great looking but I have one question. How did you support the round tera cotta tubes when the center of the structure looks hollow?

A: Use heavier cement when doing that part, if you need, use some small rocks on the sides to keep it in place.

  10. How did you resolve the flag raising issue on the mailbox. It looks as if the flag is recessed into the hole with no way of raising it. I couldn’t really tell from your pic’s. By the way, you did a great job on this and it looks very professional.

A : Thanks. The “flag” was purchased separate, but it does not raise, it just comes out straight.

  11. Nice pictures. I am not crazy about the arch on the top but it looks great and definitely adds to your home’s curb appeal.

  12. How many bricks did it take to build this?

A: If you count there is about 170 bricks but to be safe and take into account broken bricks I would get 200 bricks

  13. This was awesome to see. GREAT job! I still think it’s too much for me to take on as I’d want it to be PERFECT and would be afraid to mess it up. Any idea what kind of company I would look up to give me a bid on this type of work and what can I expect to pay? (ball park)Thanks.
